A casino hotel is four experiences sharing one lobby. Here is what each part looks like on an ordinary evening, and how to get the most from it.
Gaming
Dutch casino floors are licensed, calm and well supervised. Slot lounges take up most of the space; table games — roulette, blackjack, punto banco and poker — sit in a quieter section with their own bar.
Dress codes are relaxed but smart, ID is checked at the door and most floors open in the early afternoon and close in the small hours.
Stay
The hotel half of a casino hotel is usually a four- or five-star property in its own right. Rooms are larger than the city average, and higher floors are set aside for guests who want distance from the evening noise.
Suites add separate living areas, better views and, on some floors, a dedicated concierge and lounge.
Dining
Food is where the good casino hotel separates itself from the ordinary one. Expect a signature restaurant with a tasting menu, a relaxed all-day brasserie and at least one cocktail bar that stays open as late as the tables.
Book the main restaurant ahead on Fridays and Saturdays; the brasserie usually takes walk-ins.
Leisure
Wellness floors are standard: an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and a gym at minimum, with treatment rooms in the larger properties. They are quietest in the morning.
Event calendars bring live music, comedy, themed dinners and concerts, so check what is on before you pick your dates.

A Typical Evening
Arrive mid-afternoon, drop your bags, and spend an hour in the pool. Dinner at eight in the signature restaurant, then a walk across the lobby to the floor for a couple of hours at the tables or a show.
Nightcap at the bar, lift to a quiet room, and a late breakfast the next morning before you head into the city. That is the whole point of a casino hotel: one building, one unhurried evening.
